Opportunities in Polymers, Nanotech and Other Industries in Hungary
Our objective was to connect with technologists, entrepreneurs and companies engaged in the polymer industry in Hungary that may have an interest in collaborating with companies in the polymer industry in Ohio. We identified a large number of opportunities, as summarized in the Trip Report, which we are now in the process of following up and taking action on. We continue to look for exciting new technologies and fast growing companies in Hungary. Our meetings with Hungarian technologists and companies during the May 2009 trip focused on exploring possibilities of business relationships with polymer companies in Ohio. Opportunities we uncovered include a wide range of possibilities from simply licensing to deeper levels of collaboration / partnership to joint venture or acquisition to locating in Ohio to access the North American market. The possibilities are exciting. The
polymer industry is Ohio’s largest and
most important industry and
Ohio is a world leader in the field of
polymers.
Bringing Innovation, Brain Power and Jobs to the Northeast Ohio Region from Hungary Our group, here in the Northeast Ohio area, is focused on bringing innovation, brain power and jobs to the region from overseas. “We are looking to attract business investment and opportunities from Hungary to Cleveland,” according to Jeanette Grasselli Brown, co-chair of the CHDP Economic Development program, and well-known on the boards of a number of innovative Cleveland organizations, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Great Lakes Science Center, and IdeaStream.
